Important Information
Volunteering
The DVHS Music Program greatly appreciates our parent volunteers, whose work is indispensable during events like concerts, gigs, and fundraisers. If you are interested in becoming a parent volunteer, please follow the steps listed on the SRVUSD website (linked below) to ensure that you meet all the requirements to volunteer, drive, or chaperone our students. Typically, this process involves submitting an online application, creating an account on Be A Mentor, submitting proof of vaccination, and possibly a background check.
Concerts
DVHS Choir puts on three concerts a year in our Performing Arts Center to feature all our ensembles: the Fall Concert, which typically showcases a formal repertoire, the Winter Concert, a combination of formal and holiday music, and the POPS Concert, where students perform well-known pop music with detailed choreography. The POPS Concert also includes non-ensemble performances by our singers, both solo and group. To attend, concertgoers can use the tickets included in their Music Booster Membership or buy tickets at the door. As per county guidelines, all attendees will be required to wear masks.
These concerts are supplemented by Pancake Breakfast, a performance/fundraiser for the Music Program that takes place early in the year where the audience can buy a pancake breakfast and enjoy performances by all of DVHS' musical ensembles. At the end of the year, the Chamber Singers perform their special holiday repertoire at many locations to spread cheer. Additional tours and performances, like the Golden State Choral Competition or the Area Festival, vary from year to year, and students will be notified of them well in advance.
